Teeth whitening is a popular aesthetic procedure for individuals of all ages and genders. This process aims to change the color and brightness of natural teeth (not restorations), preserving their shape.

The chemical method we follow is scientifically approved and is considered a conservative, safe, and painless dental procedure. It doesn’t alter the tooth shape. It’s essential for the supervisor and the user of these materials to have the scientific background, medical knowledge, and skills.

Note: Whitening toothpaste is not a chemical whitening method; it involves abrasion using hard particles found in the toothpaste that can permanently damage the tooth’s protective layer, causing sensitivity. In contrast, in-office chemical whitening doesn’t affect tooth shape during activation.

The whitening of natural teeth can be achieved using materials such as carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide, which are applied to the teeth and activated either with ultraviolet light (e.g., ZOOM lamp) or laser (Biolase EpicX). These materials can also be self-activated and placed within customized trays that are worn in the mouth for a certain period of time.

At the Panorama Dental Center, we offer all methods of teeth whitening, tailoring the treatment based on the severity of the tooth color and the patient’s desires. We believe that teeth whitening should be personalized, taking into account the patient’s existing tooth color, preferences, expectations, as well as daily dietary habits (frequent exposure to coffee, red wine, tea, etc.), and other factors like smoking and oral hygiene.

Our materials and procedures are in compliance with the European Directive EU 2011/84/eu, ensuring the safety of our patients. Our methodology involves the use of materials and the ZOOM lamp, at-home methods with trays, and combinations of these techniques, which are recommended procedures for teeth whitening.

Each selected procedure is suggested with appropriate concentrations (10%, 16%, 22%) of active whitening agents, either carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide, and a corresponding application time.

Regular check-ups, periodic cleanings, and polishing performed in our clinic, along with good daily oral hygiene practices by our patients, contribute to the long-lasting results of teeth whitening. If desired, the whitening procedure can be repeated by the patient, with one or two uses to restore the initial results achieved.
